A minimum of 6 hours guided learning over zoom with qualified instructor spread over at least two days. Then 8 hours self guided learning with the course materials that we will provide to each learner.
This qualification must be completed within 6 weeks of starting the course, with each training session a minimum of two hours.

• Post-traumatic stress disorder • Bipolar disorder
• Identifying mental health conditions • First Aid for Mental Health action plan
• Self-harm • Psychosis
• Providing advice and starting a conversation • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
• Suicide • Schizophrenia
• Stress • Depression
• Eating disorders • Anxiety
• Mental health conditions • Personality disorders
A maximum of 20 students are allowed on the course and must be a minimum of 16 years of age. A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
The assessment is by professional discussion and practical demonstration of the application of the first aid action plan for mental health (for level 2/5 and level 3/6 qualifications), conducted through video conferencing.
Practical demonstration of the application of the first aid action plan for mental health is assessed during the course following the FAA Session Plan.
A Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.
